Work on the Horizon

September 10th, 2008

I am somewhat excited about the prospect of being employed again next year. I do miss my work as a SAP HR consultant, both doing projects and software support. I often think of the company I’ll be working for. Will it be a consulting or an end-user company? Either way, it will be a welcome change for sure.

SAP (or Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing) is a system software that is widely used globally. Small scale to large businesses can benefit from the enterprise resource planning software product with system functionalities ranging from Human Resources, Finance, Sales or Materials Management (to name a few). Quadrate is a company that provides SAP certified integration. The usual project landscape covers blueprinting, business process reengineering down to actual implementation and system go-live.

Many full cycle projects I’ve been a part of have benefited from the end-to-end solutions that SAP offers. With the increasing demand for fast-paced outputs such as printing reports, invoices, pay slips to processing orders or transmitting salaries to banks, it becomes imperative for companies to acquire and implement SAP to their core businesses.

SAP was first launched in 1972, fast forward to 2008; it is now the world’s second largest software company and third largest independent software. So that’s an edge over other software in the market.
