I’m on gift-hunting mode again for a new friend’s little boy’s birthday next month. Thankfully, the mom posted the kid’s preferences and finding “the gift” should be easy-peasy. The part I like best though is while I’m on gift hunting, I would chance upon little trinkets or thingamajigs that my family will like. There will be gifts for grandma, for mom, for my husband and kids, too! I’ve always loved shopping for my family. So today, I’m heading off to the mall again to escape the summer heat and shop!
It has been a week since I planned to buy an Ipod Touch. Part of me wants to wait until a good sale comes along but with Apple, I don’t even think it’s possible. The one that I have, which is still a 1st generation Ipod Touch is still useful but I could no longer upgrade its OS. I find that some apps are getting slow to load and in no time, I’m sure all the apps there will be obsolete.
Our Ipad, on the other hand, has become a really good tool for our little girl to get busy or should I say to relax during her downtime coming home from school. My husband also like his quick access to sports videos and news articles, while for me; it will be social networking, emailing and ebooks. It also fits nicely in a black Ipad leather case, because it looks like a portfolio rather than a gadget and it is sturdy.
Come to think of it, Apple is taking over our lives! With an iMac, a classic iPod, an iTouch and an iPad, we only need an iPhone to complete the gang! Ha ha. But I am self-confessed Mac fanatic, need I say more?
We have been re-arranging stuff in our house for the past two days. We had to make a clutter-free playroom for our little girl and that means taking out heaps of toys and placing them elsewhere. There is so much sorting, throwing away, packing and lifting going on and I can feel my back strain again. If I could only take testoripped supplement to give me that energy boost I need. But then, I might grow a mustache and lots of nose hair after. Ha!
The new Miss Universe USA was a guest in The View show today. I’m not a fan of the pageant and I never watched its show ever. But for the first time, watching the winner speak and answer questions, I was impressed. She’s not just a pretty face as she is quite intelligent, too. She even answered the question if she had ever use ‘tape’ to pull up her breasts to make them look ‘big’ on the pageant, she quickly said ‘No’ and explained that the only time she used ‘tape’ was for arts when she was in school. And that could mean that she never had cosmetic surgery or had not tried the best diet pill on the market in order to look and feel great.
I went for vacation for more than a month and came back not gaining a single pound. I don’t know how it happened but I remember indulging in sweets, eating like 5 times a day and even downing soda at least once a day. It must be the stress of shuttling back and forth to my folks’ house and my in-laws’ or the sleepless nights (due to my little boy not yet sleeping through the night) still. People who see my photos up on Facebook might think that I’m in some sort of diet or taking top diet pills, but really, I’m not.
It is inevitable that at my age or stage in life, receiving kitchen wares like beautiful le creuset bakeware or cooking gadgets as gifts are considered ‘normal’. I remember feeling awkward giving such gifts to my mom because they are primarily for the house or kitchen and ‘technically’ not for personal use. But now, I love receiving these gifts for any occasion. I am enjoying my time in the kitchen because I love to cook and sometimes bake for my family. Maybe next time, I should come up with a wish list of kitchen items or gadgets I would like to have.
Have you heard of dog DNA testing? It sounds so CSI-ey for me. Hee hee. It is my first time to hear about it and it made me curious to know what it is for. But before I hit Google search, my hunch is that this testing helps in developing better dog breeds, among the many other purposes. Especially so that dogs act as enforcer of peace and security anywhere from malls to airports. Aren’t they the coolest?
With occasional rains and cool evenings, it definitely doesn’t feel like Summer at all here in Sydney. Same time, last year, temperature rose to almost 40deg Celsius. This only means that we might have a harsh Winter season this year. Talking about Winter, our family is planning to go to Snowy Mountains in July as the kids are now big enough to enjoy the snow. But apart from the snow experience, I would never miss the photo opportunities especially during the drive going to the mountains. It will also be nice to see the kids in complete Winter gear with matching MSR Snowshoes, for sure they will look cute in them. He he.
I am now on a hunt for a mobile phone. My trusty phone has died on me while we were vacationing in Singapore. I suppose 4 years of heavy usage is enough proof that it has served me well and it is now time to move on to a new unit. I am not what they call a “heavy user”, I seldom SMS or call friends to chat given the expensive call rates here. But the features that are more important for me are the camera and video functions. And that means my options are only the Iphone 4 or HTC Desire. Gee, if not for the steep prices, I would just grab one without hesitations.
Back then, I wasn’t at all interested in intricate pieces of jewelry. I find them too ‘mature’ for my taste. But now the time has come that I am more interested in them than the pieces I have invested to buy in the past. I think it has something to do with age. I appreciate now how especially adorned jewelry with everlon diamonds can make a woman look so sophisticated and beautiful. The only downer is the steep price.
